"My inspiration for this painting came one day while I was out for a bike ride. It was a sunny
day in the spring and the wetland by the Trempealeau River was at a perfect balance between water and grass. A week earlier
the area had been flooded, a week later most of the water had drained off. As I looked out I thought it would be great to
see a hot air balloon sailing over the area. The whale ships were added from an earlier idea."
