Snail Rider is the fairy of patience. She is fascinated by simple
pleasures. From her perch,
she slows to the rhythm of nature,
and allows the mist of life's burdens to evaporate.
"I love to look closely at the small
details in nature. People are so busy they often don't take time to appreciate the hidden beauty all around them. I created
a series of fairy paintings to expose the secret places of the environment, and make them accessible for everyone to
treasure. The reference for Snail Rider came while hiking in the Smoky Mountains. My wife does most of the modeling for my fairy paintings, and I usually try to change the appearance of each fairy. For Snail Rider, I wanted to
make the fairy look just like my lovely wife."
