"My inspiration for Broken Wing came
to me in a vision one night. I had lost my mother several years earlier, and was still grieving her loss. I climbed out of
bed and went down to my studio where I did a quick sketch. In the morning I was surprised to find the drawing on my table,
as I did not recall drawing it the night before. After I finished painting Broken Wing, my wife wrote the poem to accompany
the painting. Broken Wing has been one of my best selling pieces, and inspires many people suffering from their own 'broken
wing'."
